News: Strezov-Sampling – Cornucopia Strings

Cornucopia is the “horn of plenty” (from Latin – cornu copiae) – a symbol of abundance and nourishment. We recorded and sampled a 20-piece string ensemble (6-5-4-3-2) which was made of the best string players in Bulgaria – all the leading players in Sofia Session Orchestra. Our intention was to create a sample library that has articulations that each composer will possibly need.

“First there was the harp, then the harpsichord, now Spitfire are please to introduce the Cimbalom to this family of definitive VIs.
The cimbalom is a concert hammered dulcimer: a type of chordophone composed of a large, trapezoidal box with metal strings stretched across its top. It is a musical instrument popularized in Hungary and commonly found throughout central and eastern Europe. The cimbalom is played by striking two beaters against the strings. The steel treble strings are arranged in groups of 4 and are tuned in unison. The bass strings which are over-spun with copper, are arranged in groups of 3 and are also tuned in unison.”

News: 8DIO – Steel String Guitar

8DIO released Steel String Guitar.
Steel String Guitar is a deep-sampled (3.000 samples) pristine sounding Dreadnought. We recorded both fingered- and picked playing styles of the guitar, including hundreds of natural fret and release noises. In addition we also created 18 morphed patches which blends the guitar with a variety of other instruments (including Double Bass, Bulbul Tarang, Plucked Grand Piano, Regular Grand Piano, Synths etc). The diversity of the morphed patches widens the sonic range of the guitar, so you make it sound like anything from a modified acoustic bass to a mandolin/luther, from a morphed guitar-piano to a more ethnic sound guitar with resonators. We also integrated live FX (ex. Delay, Verb, Screamer, Lofi, Convolution) into the patches, so you can trigger live FX on top of the patches by using key-switches. We also integrated a dual convolution reverb containing deep sets of both FX and normal based set of convolutions.

“The concept for Cinematic Synthetic Drums (or simply, “CSD”) was simple enough: many modern film, TV and game scores use a rich variety of both acoustic and electronic material. In particular, composers often seek crisp electronic drums that fit nicely alongside orchestral and melodic synth sounds.
