Twisted Tools released Rolodecks, a realtime modular multieffect.
“The Rolodecks effects are the Slicer, Flange, Filter, Delay, Reverb and Ext effects.
Ext (short for external effect), is an assignable effects slot, giving you the ability to insert your own effects and automate them! With the Ext effect slot, you can truly make Rolodecks unique by adding your own flavor. To top it off, we’ve inserted a granular effect called Stretch as the default Ext effect, but feel free to swap it out for your own.”

visuals: Real-time 3D Animation with Max for Live
Posted on | August 4, 2011 | No Comments
Resently i found some very interesting videos on vimeo. Fabrizio Poce (aka june74) developed a module called V-Module for Max for Live.
“V-Module is a collection of multiple M4L devices which can be freely interconnected (or mostly so) to create potentially very complex real-time “media” processing chains within Ableton Live workflow. V-Module works on top of Ableton Live’s Max for Live (M4L) environment and is essentially a Live-like interface to Jitter functionalities in Max (along with a few creations of mine). “
“Audio drives vertex generation of objects and volumes. Render-to-texture feedback used to create a “mirror” effect. Position and rotation in space, colors and “scene” groups controlled in real-time through clip envelopes and MIDI manual controls. Ableton Live used to host the entire environment (Max for Live). “
Fabrizio Poce also made some tutorial videos how he did the animations:

Really this is weird but awesome stuff:
“We created a realtime sound-reactive software to visualize the two pieces composed by Dmitri Kourliandski and performed by the Ensemble Intercontemporain.
IRCAM used 24 microphones to get a separated audio signal from each instrument of the ensemble.
Thomas Goepfer created a software which analyzes each signal and extract the sound information; the resulting data are sent to our software and used to animate the elements of the visual composition.”
