BattleFX is thoughtfully organized into three distinct sections, each offering unique processing capabilities. The first section is the Shatter Delay, a rhythmic and granular delay unit designed for intricate sound manipulation. Notably, this unit introduces a brand-new parameter called “Choke,” which is not present in the original Battalion synth. The Choke parameter allows users to chop the delay buffer at repeating intervals, creating unique rhythmic textures. Furthermore, a dedicated Euclidean pattern knob provides precise control over the rhythmic distribution of these chops, enabling highly complex and evolving delay patterns.

Reverb and Master Processing

Moving on, the second section features the Headspace Reverb. This module carries over the robust reverb engine from Battalion, known for its lush and expansive soundscapes. Interestingly, the innovative Choke parameter is also integrated into Headspace Reverb, offering a novel approach to shaping reverb tails rhythmically. Therefore, producers can create dynamic and evolving spatial effects previously difficult to achieve. The third and final section is the comprehensive Master Section. This part is derived from Battalion’s master bus processing and includes a versatile three-band EQ, a multimode distortion unit for adding grit and character, and a powerful Maximizer to enhance overall loudness and presence.

Each of the three processing sections within BattleFX comes equipped with independent Solo and Mute controls, offering producers granular control over their sound design workflow. Moreover, the plugin supports customizable color themes, allowing users to personalize their interface for a more comfortable and efficient experience. Additionally, it provides native support for both Apple Silicon and Intel-based macOS systems, alongside full compatibility with Windows operating systems.
