Cre8audio Programm: Versatile 12-Track MIDI/CV Sequencer

Cre8audio has officially launched Programm, a new performance-oriented MIDI and CV sequencer designed to bridge the gap between human performance and algorithmic generation. This innovative device aims to cater to electronic musicians who seek both speed and creative depth in their sequencing workflow. Furthermore, Programm offers considerable flexibility, allowing users to meticulously step-in melodies, play sequences in real-time, or explore new textures through extensive randomization capabilities. Importantly, the sequencer also includes an always-ready recall function, ensuring that spontaneously created sequences are never lost.

Seamless Integration and Connectivity

Programm is engineered for total versatility, supporting both MIDI and Control Voltage (CV) setups with ease. As a result, it seamlessly integrates into various studio environments, whether you are connecting traditional MIDI gear or Eurorack synthesizers that utilize CV/Gate. Each of its sequencer channels is capable of communicating via both MIDI and CV. Moreover, Programm can either serve as the master clock or be clocked externally, offering flexible synchronization options via both CV and MIDI. This comprehensive I/O makes it a highly adaptable hub for any electronic music setup.

Deep Sequencing Capabilities

The device is a true sequencing powerhouse, housing a massive set of tools within a compact enclosure. It features 12 dedicated sequencers in total. Specifically, there are 4 monophonic melodic sequencers, with two offering dedicated analog pitch, CV, and gate outputs. Additionally, 8 drum sequencers are included, all equipped with dedicated gate outputs for percussive instruments. Users can mix and match these sequencers as needed, providing extensive possibilities for complex arrangements. Furthermore, sequencer lengths can be set up to 64 steps, and each sequence can have a different length, enhancing rhythmic complexity.

Performance and Creative Tools

Programm excels in offering diverse performance and generative options. For instance, users can input notes in real-time using a MIDI controller or create patterns step-by-step. Alternatively, the device can be switched into keyboard mode, transforming its buttons into a scale-locked keyboard. Once a pattern is established, dedicated parameter controls for pitch, gate length, ratcheting, CV/CC, note offset, and step conditions allow for detailed tweaking without menu diving. In addition, randomization can be applied to any step or entire sequence, fostering creative exploration and unexpected musical outcomes. The device is built for both initial sketches and deep sound design.

Intuitive Control and Display

The design emphasizes hands-on control and immediate feedback. The unit features six orange knobs that facilitate quick adjustments of main parameters per step, thereby minimizing the need for complex menu navigation. The pad grid functions as a large dot matrix display, providing clear and concise information about crucial settings, note values, keys, tuning, randomization modes, and more. This intuitive display not only keeps users informed but also adds an engaging visual element during performance. Consequently, the combination of physical controls and a clear display makes the Programm highly accessible for both beginners and experienced users.
