Low End Candy Preverb: Real-Time Reverse Reverb Plugin

Low End Candy has released Preverb, a new audio plugin that creates reverse reverb effects in real time. Instead of placing the reverb after the sound, Preverb puts the swell before it. This turns any audio into an instant riser, transition, or vocal lead-in directly inside your DAW.

No More Manual Reverse Reverb

Traditionally, producers had to fake reverse reverb by hand. They would print a reverb tail, reverse the audio, and nudge it back into place before each drop. This process is slow, destructive, and hard to tweak once bounced. Preverb automates the entire trick and makes it live.

Founder Beau McLeod explains: “I’ve reversed reverb tails by hand on hundreds of records — bounce it, flip it, line it back up before the drop. It works, but it kills your flow. I built Preverb so that whole ritual disappears.”

How It Works

Preverb works on bass, drums, effects, risers, synths, transitions, and vocals — even full mixes. Because it reacts ahead of the transient, everything it creates stays in key and in time with the track. You simply arm CAPTURE, play the sound, and drag the rendered pre-verb into your session as a WAV file.

The plugin offers several reverb characters: Hall, Room, Plate, Cathedral, Ambience, and Spring. Factory presets help you get started quickly. You can also create and save your own presets with one-click init and A/B compare functionality.

Additional Controls

Preverb includes PITCH and FORMANT controls to shift the reverb’s pitch and formant independently. You can link them for natural transposition. Dedicated controls for LENGTH, MIX, SHAPE, TONE, and GAP ensure the swell crests exactly as the sound hits.
