Oradea Quadruple Voltage Controlled Analog Resonator for Eurorack
Overview of Oradea Analog Resonator
Oradea is a quadruple voltage controlled analog resonator designed for Eurorack synthesizer systems. It can be used to enhance external audio signals or to generate tones by mimicking the resonant characteristics of physical objects or spaces. The module features a frequency response that can be tuned across the entire audible range with precise V/oct tracking, allowing for detailed control over sound shaping.
Key Features and Controls
Each of the four bands in Oradea can be independently adjusted for tuning frequency, resonance, and level. The module offers both manual and voltage control, including joint and individual CV inputs with calibrated V/oct tracking. This flexibility enables users to create complex resonant textures and effects.
Oradea includes four individual trigger inputs that excite its filters with internally generated, uniform, and finely tuned impulses. This feature allows for dynamic interaction and modulation of the resonators. Additionally, each channel has a VCA and a polarity switch, which provide remote amplitude shaping and manual phase response adjustment.
Outputs and Signal Management
The module provides individual outputs for each resonant band, allowing external processing of each frequency band separately. There is also a mixed output for combined signals. To prevent uncontrolled distortion, Oradea incorporates resonant frequency gain compensation, ensuring that gain at the peak does not increase with resonance. Signal level indicators with multi-color LEDs help monitor the output levels visually.
Technical Specifications
- Eurorack compatible format
- 20hp width and 40mm depth (including ribbon bracket)
- Power consumption: +210mA / -190mA

Expandability with Arad Resonator Commander
Oradea can be expanded using the Arad Resonator Commander, which adds three additional features. This expansion module provides direct audio inputs for individual channels, manual buttons and gate inputs for clickless muting and unmuting, and a set of four buttons that act in parallel to the excite inputs for manual triggering. This enhances the control and flexibility of the resonator setup.
