OVNI Audio Releases TELESCOPE, Free Open-Source Audio Analyser

OVNI Audio has released TELESCOPE 0.1.0, a free audio analyser plug-in for macOS and Windows. The plug-in is open-source under the GNU AGPLv3 license. TELESCOPE is part of OVNI Audio’s family of free, open-source tools, which also includes spatial effects and SUPERNOVA, a visual synth.

TELESCOPE uses a single analysis engine with thirteen different lenses. These lenses cover loudness (ITU-R BS.1770 with LRA and true peak), dynamics, spectrum, spectrogram and waterfall, constant-Q with key estimation, stereo scope and per-band correlation, energy by pan direction, and tonal balance against a reference file. The thirteenth lens, called VERDICT, runs 21 deterministic rules over a per-second history. It writes each finding with the measured number and the rule that produced it. There is no model, no network, and no telemetry involved.

One of the key features is that TELESCOPE writes nothing to the audio. It has 0 samples of latency and bit-exact pass-through. This makes it safe to use on master buses or during live sessions.

The plug-in ships as one signed and notarized installer for macOS, with VST3 and AU formats, universal binary, for macOS 11 or later. For Windows, it is available as VST3 x64 in an unsigned ZIP. The source code is free, and the prebuilt installers are free to download until November 23, 2026.
