Reason Studios Offers ReCycle 2.5 Sample Tool for Free with Beat Battle Contest
ReCycle 2.5
Reason Studios has announced that their game-changing sample tool ReCycle, originally released in 1994, will now be available for free. In celebration of this, Reason Studios is launching a community-driven campaign centered around a beat battle hosted by Don Cannon, the VP of A&R at Def Jam Recordings.
ReCycle, known for revolutionizing sample editing in the late 90s, is being reintroduced to a new generation of music producers to preserve its legacy and offer insight into the history of music production. The tool introduced innovative features that allowed loop manipulation without affecting tempo, opening up new creative avenues in electronic music production. It quickly gained popularity among producers and played a significant role in shaping genres like house, techno, and hip-hop.
In its latest update, over 30 years since its inception, ReCycle is adapting to the future by adding support for Windows on ARM and Apple Silicon, along with general performance enhancements. The tool’s revival aims to bring it back to its roots in community-driven settings, fostering collaboration and innovation among producers.
