ROLLA Audio Launches ROLLA Jungle & DnB Rompler

ROLLA Audio has released ROLLA, a new jungle and drum-and-bass instrument for macOS and Windows. It is available as an early access version. The instrument combines a rolling bassline generator with a sample-based sound engine.

What is ROLLA?

ROLLA is a rompler designed specifically for jungle and drum-and-bass producers. Its core feature is the built-in Roller. This tool plays a rolling bassline in time with your project when you hold a single key. You can edit the pattern step by step. Moreover, you can export the pattern as MIDI for further tweaking.

In addition, ROLLA includes 246 factory presets. These cover Reese and roller basses, sub layers, neuro, dub stabs, keys, leads, FX, and chopped breaks. The instrument has two sample layers, each with its own filters and envelopes. Furthermore, an output section provides drive, chorus, delay, and reverb.

Platform and Compatibility

ROLLA runs on macOS (Apple silicon, macOS 15 or later) and Windows 11. It supports AU, VST3, and standalone operation. However, the developer notes some limitations. For instance, the installers are not yet code-signed. Also, Intel Macs are not supported. Meanwhile, FL Studio has not yet been verified.

ROLLA is sold as early access at US$79. A 7-day full trial is built into the same installer. This allows you to test the instrument before purchasing. The early access status means you get access to future updates as the product matures.
