Introducing the Brainstep Controller

The Brainstep Controller is a specialized MIDI controller designed for seamless integration with the Brainstep device. Utilizing TRS-A input and output jacks, this controller ensures that no MIDI input is lost during operation. By connecting the controller’s output to the Brainstep’s TRS MIDI input via a stereo jack cable, users can enjoy a streamlined MIDI experience.

Visualizing Parameter Changes

One of the standout features of the Brainstep Controller is its ability to visualize parameter changes. When receiving data from the controller, Brainstep displays the currently changing value on its screen. To activate this feature, navigate to the configuration menu and select Misc->Display->Overlay timeout. Here, you can customize the display duration or disable this feature entirely.

Sending the Current State

For synchronization, users can send the current position of sliders and buttons to Brainstep. Simply select the desired tracks and press the TR1 and TR2 buttons simultaneously. The layered architecture of the Brainstep Controller allows for control over all four tracks, enabling simultaneous adjustments.

Mixer A / B Parameters

The controller allows users to manage various sources outputting on Brainstep’s A and B outputs. Key parameters include glide time, LFO control, ADSR envelope control, and accent parameters. Note that while there is no dedicated button for LFO reset, Brainstep automatically activates reset when delay is greater than 0.
