Modulaire Maritime Klaviatura 2: Dual Voice Keyboard and Sequencer

Modulaire Maritime has released the Klaviatura 2, a second-generation Eurorack module that combines a two-track keyboard, arpeggiator, and 64-step sequencer. Designed for avant-garde genres like synth-punk and electroclash, it also promises to deliver big hits for the working class. The module offers two independent voices in a single 24 HP unit, each with its own CV/Gate output.

Two Tracks, Two Workflows

Track A functions as a live-played keyboard or arpeggiator. You can play the 12 keys with last-note priority. The arpeggiator includes nine types, such as Up, Down, Converge, and Random, with a range of one to four octaves. A latch feature freezes chords, letting the arp run without your fingers. Additionally, eight rhythmic figures—including Straight, Gallop, and Tresillo—add variety to your patterns.

Track B is a 64-step sequencer with 12 memory slots for pattern recall and copying. You can play over it live, and the sequence continues silently until you release the key. Playback can be reversed, ping-ponged, or randomized. Quantization filters the output to selected scales, while slide and swing options add groove. The module also includes three momentary effects—Thin, Stutter, and Reverse—for breaks and variations.

Rhythm and Control

Each track has independent division settings (1/16, 1/8, 1/4) and gate length from 10% to 90%. Seven scales per track cover Chromatic, Major, Minor, and Pentatonic variations, among others. The CV input allows external transposition with a CV Lock feature, so you can assign an LFO to one track while playing the other freely. A clock output with selectable divider syncs other modules, and swing affects both the arpeggiator and sequencer.

The module stores 12 patterns that reload at power-up, plus 12 factory presets. Technical specifications include 24 HP width, 35mm depth, and power consumption of +12V 46mA and -12V 11mA. A full user manual is forthcoming.
