Phase Fiasco KAZU: Creative Multi-FX with 50 Effects

Phase Fiasco has introduced KAZU, a new creative multi-FX plugin designed to bring movement and evolution to your sounds. With 50 effects and a unique Animate feature, it aims to turn static audio into evolving textures and unexpected rhythms. What is KAZU?

KAZU is a multi-effects processor that encourages experimentation. Instead of simply stacking effects, you can hit a single button to set everything in motion. Its smart modulation algorithms generate coordinated changes across your effect chain. This approach helps you move from a basic idea to something surprising in seconds.

The core workflow is straightforward. You start by stacking effects from eight categories. Then you can randomise parameters or use the Animate function to add life. A built-in sequencer lets you draw on/off patterns, while an X/Y pad and four macros give you hands-on control for live performance.

50 Effects and Smart Modulation

KAZU includes 50 effects, ranging from classic reverbs and tape echoes to granular glitches and spectral destruction. You will find familiar tools like distortion, chorus, and phaser, alongside more exotic ones like Bitrot, Dattorro, and Wendy. Each effect can be modulated individually, but the real power lies in the global modulation system.

The Animate feature is the centrepiece. One click generates coordinated modulation across your entire rack. You can also use generative sequencers, custom curves, LFOs, pitch followers, and audio-reactive modulation. This allows for everything from subtle movement to full chaos, all without manual automation.

In addition, KAZU supports unlimited modulation sources. You can route any parameter to any source, making it a versatile tool for sound design. The preset manager helps you save and recall your favourite setups, and frequent updates add new effects and features over time.
