Sample Logic Animation Station Pro: Plugin Host & Arpeggiator

Sample Logic, together with Pitch Innovations, has released Animation Station Pro, a virtual instrument plugin that hosts VST3 and Audio Unit instruments and effects inside a single environment and animates them with step sequencers, LFOs, and arpeggiators.

Three Engines in One Plugin

The plugin combines three engines. The Universal Instrument Host loads and plays any VST or Audio Unit virtual instrument directly inside the plugin. As a result, VST-only instruments and effects can now run in AU-only DAWs such as Logic Pro for the first time.

The Intelligent MIDI Sequencer & Arpeggiator offers multi-directional patterns, stutters, chromatic transposition, and real-time ABCD pattern switching across four patterns. Meanwhile, the new FX Animation Engine hosts audio effect plugins and animates their parameters with up to six independent animations, each configurable as a step sequencer, LFO, or macro control. A learn function assigns animations to any hosted plugin parameter.

Channel Presets and Live Performance

A Channel Preset stores the hosted instrument, the effect chain, the MIDI pattern, and all FX animation assignments as one recallable preset. Therefore, users can switch between complete animated setups with a single click, both in the studio and on stage. A standalone app allows performance without a DAW.

Moreover, Animation Station Pro includes drag-and-drop MIDI export, customizable key switches, advanced mod-wheel modulation, and infinite pattern randomization for generating new ideas quickly.
