Overview of the SED-CSM Synthvoice Module

The SED-CSM is an analog discrete synthvoice designed for Eurorack systems, offering a compact yet powerful solution for electronic music producers. This module features two highly stable discrete Voltage Controlled Oscillators (VCOs) and three analog Suboscillators, providing a wide range of tonal possibilities. Its design emphasizes excellent analog technology to create diverse soundscapes at a reasonable price point.

Key Analog Components and Sound Design Features

The module includes three suboscillators tuned to 3/4, 1/2, and 1/4 intervals with selectable waveforms such as square, saw, and triangle. A unique Gravity Mix-Sync function enhances these suboscillators. Additionally, the SED-CSM incorporates a wavefolder that processes the first VCO’s triangle wave, adding harmonic complexity. White noise and an XOR ring modulator further expand the sonic palette.

Filter, Amplifier, and Modulation

The SED-CSM is equipped with a 24dB low-pass voltage-controlled filter (VCF) featuring an overdrive function, allowing for warm and dynamic tonal shaping. A discrete voltage-controlled amplifier (VCA) manages output levels with precision. For modulation, the module offers dual analog low-frequency oscillators (LFOs), one of which can also function as a VCO, with a broad frequency range and key tracking capabilities.

Envelope Generators and Mixer Section

Two superfast and punchy analog ADSR envelope generators are included, each with a loop function and four trigger outputs, such as End of Attack and End of Decay. This allows for complex modulation and rhythmic patterns. The mixer section features a master level control and a large patch field, facilitating extensive interaction with other Eurorack modules.

Build and Physical Specifications

The SED-CSM is designed with durability in mind, featuring screwed metal shaft potentiometers for reliable control. It occupies 36TE of rack space and has a depth of 25mm, making it a compact addition to any Eurorack setup.
