Users can then seamlessly switch between these scenes as a track progresses, adding dynamic evolution to their compositions. To further enhance this evolution, the plugin includes an advanced Arranger feature. This allows musicians to place markers along a timeline, facilitating precise changes during playback. For example, one can swap a triad for a sus4 chord, shift the pattern’s degree to construct a progression, transpose the key, or even switch to an entirely different scene at specific points. This functionality ensures that a single motif can be reshaped and varied as it plays, preventing monotony. In addition, a dedicated modulation lane is integrated into every scene. This lane enables users to shape parameters such as Velocity for accents, Cutoff to open up the sound, Decay to lengthen notes, or any MIDI CC to control their synth. Crucially, this modulation is locked to the same steps as the notes, ensuring perfect synchronization. Consequently, if the pattern is varied or scenes are switched, the modulation follows, always matching the motif’s movement.

Little Arp Monster also provides the convenience of dragging MIDI out directly onto a DAW track. This desktop-only feature allows users to further edit the generated MIDI data, capturing exactly what was playing, including notes and timing. A built-in audition synth is also included, allowing users to sketch ideas and hear the arpeggiator without the immediate need for a connected instrument. The plugin boasts broad compatibility across various platforms. It is available as a VST3 plugin for both macOS and Windows. macOS users also benefit from an Audio Unit (AU) version, which seamlessly integrates into Logic Pro’s MIDI-FX slot.
