ONRI Audio has released REISEI, a new mastering processor for macOS. This tool combines spectrum analysis, EQ, dynamics, saturation, stereo imaging, and limiting into a single view. It aims to simplify the mastering workflow by keeping every decision in context.

What Makes REISEI Stand Out?

REISEI’s key innovation is its PARTIAL mode, which uses additive resynthesis. Instead of applying a filter across a band, it tracks individual harmonics in the source and follows them as pitch changes. You can lift, reduce, or invert a partial to cancel it in anti-phase. This process is linear by design, so it adds no distortion.

The analyzer doubles as the control surface. Every band, grip, and node sits directly on the spectrum display. With SOLO engaged on a module, you can isolate that part to hear it clearly. A UNITY control matches output to input level, making bypass comparisons level-accurate.

Signal Flow and Metering

REISEI keeps a straightforward signal chain: compressor, saturator, EQ, and dynamic EQ. You can reorder these modules freely. The plugin avoids mid/side processing entirely, keeping the signal in L/R throughout. Instead, a per-band WEIGHT control blends mid or side elements into each move by degree, preserving the original stereo image.

Metering follows ITU-R BS.1770-4, showing integrated, short-term, and momentary loudness, plus LRA, true peak, and PLR. A streaming-target utility sets a rough gain starting point, which you fine-tune manually.

Pricing and Availability

REISEI costs $399 as a one-time license, including three activations. An intro price of $299 is available until August 31. A fully functional trial is offered. The plugin requires macOS 14 or later and Apple Silicon (M1 and up). Intel Macs are not supported. Windows support is planned. The design was built by an industrial and UI designer who is also a mixing and mastering engineer.
