Hot Shower Audio has released bathROOMs, a new reverb plugin that captures the acoustics of five distinct bathrooms. The plugin is available as a pay-what-you-want download, with a minimum price of $0. It runs on macOS and Windows in VST3, AU, and AAX formats.

Five Unique Spaces

The plugin offers five different room types, each with its own size and tonal balance. Porcelain delivers hard tile and defined reflections. Cove is deeper and more contained. Greenhouse features glass and plants with air. Lavender provides the softest character. Baldosa replicates a Colombian bathroom with electric shower and hydraulic tile, being the smallest and brightest. This variety lets you choose a space rather than tweaking abstract numbers.

Intuitive Controls

The controls go beyond standard reverb parameters. Position adjusts distance, making the room closer and darker or wider and brighter. Surface changes wall material, from hard tile to soft towel. Slap emulates echo between parallel walls with its own feedback loop. Wash balances defined reflections against a diffuse cloud. Temp shifts between bright and hard (cold) to warm and soft (hot). Pre-delay, decay, and dry/wet controls are also present.

Built-in Ducker

A handy ducker allows sidechaining from your own signal or an external track. It features threshold, ratio, attack, and release controls. This keeps vocals intelligible without manual automation. The room steps aside when needed and returns on its own.

Artist Presets and Availability

The plugin includes 27 presets from five mix engineers and producers, grouped by artist. Among them are Jona Camacho, Eduardo Díez, Samuel Osorio, Juan Esteban Vélez, and Diego Paredes. These starting points come from professionals who actually mix.
