United Plugins Continuum: Dual-Engine Delay & Reverb Plugin

United Plugins Releases Continuum: A Dual-Engine Delay and Reverb Plugin

United Plugins, in collaboration with JMG Sound, has launched Continuum, a new dual-engine spatial delay processor. The plugin combines vintage hardware character with modern digital flexibility. It aims to transform simple echoes into rich, evolving soundscapes.

Continuum features two independent delay engines. Each engine can run a different configuration simultaneously. This allows for complex, layered effects that go beyond typical delay units.

Three Vintage Models

The plugin offers three distinct hardware-modelled characters: Tape, BBD, and Digital. The Tape model delivers warm saturation, wow, and flutter. BBD emulates the dark, degraded sound of bucket-brigade circuits. Digital introduces crunchy bit-crushing and sample-rate reduction. The MOJO parameter exaggerates the unique physical quirks of each model.

Cross-Feed and Reverb Diffusion

At the core is a cross-feed network that routes the output of one delay into the input of the other. This interaction creates complex feedback patterns. The DIFFUSE control adds all-pass filters that smear delay taps into lush, reverb-like washes. This effectively morphs echoes into spacious pads.

Advanced Spatial Panning

Continuum includes twelve spatial panning modes. These range from traditional left-right positioning to mid-side balancing, Haas effect offsets, and 3D orbit rotation. Dynamic modes like Converge and Diverge adjust stereo width over successive repeats. This adds movement and depth to any mix.

Rhythmic Feel and Groove

The Feel section introduces humanized timing variations. Shuffle adds swing, while Odd/Even modes accent specific beats. Groove settings create syncopated volume patterns. Early and Late shifts move repeats ahead of or behind the grid for energetic or relaxed feels.

Modulation and Filters

Organic time modulation is available via three LFO styles: Sine, Drift, and Rand. Each offers smooth, analogue-style, or random pitch variations. Additionally, each delay engine has high-pass and low-pass filters that can be routed to pre-feedback, in-feedback, or post-output positions.

Smart Randomization and Input/Output Controls

A dedicated RAND button generates fresh parameter combinations instantly, helping overcome writer’s block. The input knob can starve the delay for self-oscillation or drive the preamp for saturation. Output control sets wet level without affecting feedback gain. Ducking and link functions provide additional control.

Pricing and Availability

Continuum is available for macOS and Windows in VST, VST3, AU, and AAX formats. It is offered at an introductory price of €15 until September 30, 2026, with a regular price of €79. A 15-day fully functional trial is available via the UnitedPluginsManager.
