DJW Audio has released Lustre, a true-stereo algorithmic reverb for macOS. The plugin is available in AU, VST3, and AAX formats. It supports both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. Lustre offers a fresh take on reverb synthesis.

Seven Algorithm Families

Lustre includes seven distinct algorithm families. These are Halls, Plates, Rooms, Chambers, Ambience, Non-Linear, and Spaces. Each family comes with ten presets. That gives users 70 factory presets in total. They cover natural spaces, dense plates, short ambience, gated and reverse-like effects, and expansive tails. This variety makes it a versatile tool for many genres.

Extensive Control Set

The interface displays sixteen automatable faders at once. Users can adjust decay time, size, pre-delay, diffusion, density, modulation, low- and high-frequency decay, filtering, and early reflections. This level of control suits sound designers and producers alike. Moreover, the layout keeps everything visible without scrolling.

Original Algorithmic Engine

Lustre uses an original algorithmic engine rather than loading captured impulse responses. This approach offers real-time flexibility. It also allows for smooth parameter changes without artifacts. Therefore, it feels more like an instrument than a static effect.

A fully featured 14-day trial is available for evaluation. A license supports two machines. The plugin is currently priced at £149. The regular price is £199. That makes it an attractive option for macOS users. However, no Windows version is announced.
