What is Spectra?

Spectra is a spectral morphing and envelope transfer engine. It splits audio into envelope and harmonics. You can then mix these components from two signals. This creates new textures and timbres. The plugin works with a main and sidechain input. Spectral morphing is a technique that blends the spectral characteristics of two sounds. This plugin makes the process accessible. Four Algorithms

Hilbert improves on Linear by reducing pre-ringing. LPC uses linear predictive coding. It has a unique character with almost no pre-ringing. IIR uses a classic vocoder technique. It offers zero latency. Each algorithm has its own strengths. You can choose the one that fits your material best.

Additional Features

Besides the algorithms, spectra includes a formant shifter. It covers a range of four octaves. There is also a tilt filter and envelope freeze. The “smooth” and “smear” controls allow precise separation of envelope and harmonics. These can be adjusted in frequency and time. This gives you fine control over the morphing process.
