ZAK Sound has released Atmospheres 2 version 2.0.0, a free reverb effect for macOS, Windows, and Linux. This major update transforms the original one-knob reverb into a more versatile tool. It now includes text prompts, a revised Random function, and reverb technology from Deep Waters 2.

What’s New in Atmospheres 2

The most notable addition is the Magic text prompt feature. Users can describe a place, material, or feeling, and the plugin generates a creative reverb texture based on that description. Additionally, the Random function creates a new phrase and space with a single click, without altering the current Mix setting. The reverb engine itself has been upgraded, drawing from the acclaimed Deep Waters 2.

Privacy and Offline Operation

All prompt generation and audio processing run locally after installation. No account, cloud connection, or online activation is required. This ensures your sessions remain private and secure. Moreover, the current atmosphere and Mix setting are saved with the DAW project, allowing for seamless recall.

Compatibility and Availability

Atmospheres 2 supports Audio Unit, VST3, and AAX on macOS 10.13 or later. On Windows, it works as VST3 and AAX on 64-bit systems. Linux users get VST3 support on 64-bit platforms. A separate iPhone and iPad edition is available via the App Store as a standalone app and AUv3 effect for iOS and iPadOS 16 or later.
