Scaler Music has released Scaler EQ Pro, the latest version of its patented musical EQ. This new plugin builds on the original Scaler EQ with upgraded architecture and fresh features. It is now available for Windows and macOS in VST3, AU, and AAX formats.

Key-Aware Harmonic Peak Filters

The signature Harmonic Peak filters return with key-aware processing. You can select a musical key or use audio detection. Boosts then affect only in-key frequencies. Cuts target out-of-key frequencies. This behavior can also be reversed. Used gently, these filters sweeten and warm a sound. Pushed harder, they produce extreme creative effects.

Live Band MIDI Control

A brand new Live Band feature introduces MIDI control over the EQ filters. By routing MIDI into the plugin, you can create filter bands on specific scale notes. Perform single note boosts or use polyphonic MIDI for multiple bands at once. The velocity and ADSR settings control the strength of each band. This makes the EQ playable like an instrument.

Dynamic EQ and More

In addition, Scaler EQ Pro includes dedicated bass and high-frequency compressors. Any band can be switched into a dynamic band, including the Harmonic Peak filters. Dynamics controls include Threshold, Ratio, Attack, and Release. You can achieve compression or expansion with positive or negative gain values. Magic Shelves boost and cut mid and side information in different proportions. A low shelf boosts mids more than sides, while a high shelf boosts sides more than mids. Continuous Gain Match compensates for level changes so you get honest comparisons.

Working In Key

The Detect button analyzes audio to determine the musical scale. It uses the same detection technology as Scaler 3. You can store three keys for quick changes. A piano keyboard display shows which notes are boosted or cut. You can also add or remove notes for custom scales.
