some days ago NI released an reaktor prism & fx update.

“REAKTOR PRISM FX is an additional ensemble that works as an effects processor for incoming audio. It takes advantage of PRISM’s complex resonator – the Modal Bank – to apply rich processing and modulation to incoming audio signals. The ‘Exciter’ section of the synth version has been replaced with an audio input section feeding PRISM’s resonator structure and deriving control signals from the incoming audio. The results are wide-ranging, from subtle and natural to extreme and synthetic sound coloring. PRISM FX works as a polyphonic resonator, a complex filter and a self-oscillating sound generator. The integrated Gate and Envelope Follower give detailed control over the shape of the resonating tones. The effect shows its power best on incoming percussive and noisy audio material. In addition it functions like a conventional effects processor thanks to its built in effects just like the synth version.”

i did some testing with the new prism fx and i have to say: awesome. that fx are some of the most sate of the art progressive fx i´ve seen for a while. you can modify the sound in a very drastic way. for sounddesigners and fx junkies as me, it´s like the paradise on earth :)
