Seven Snare Mics Shootout

A quick’n’dirty, non-scientific shootout of 7 snare mics: AKG C480 with CK63 ULS capsule, AKG D190 ES, Sennheiser MD441-U, Sennheiser MD504, Shure SM57, Shure SM58 and Shure SM77.

Tracked in a tiny untreated rehearsal room, through API 312 preamps, with modest processing – tops lifted a little and a hint of compression across the board. Kick mic (in front of the unported resonant head) is an Audio Technica 4047/SV, as is the mono overhead mic. Please look past my rubbish playing, hasty loop edits and typos.
