AOFN Audio has released Stargazing, a new reverb plugin designed for huge and expansive spaces. It combines four separate reverb algorithms with built-in modulation and an ambient noise generator. Therefore, it can create rhythmic textures, harmonic layers, and evolving musical textures.
Four Reverb Modes
The plugin includes four distinct engines. Deep Space generates dense early reflections, then thickens into a slow tail. Nebula creates warm and unhurried decays. Moreover, it adds post-reverb chorus modulation on the wet path. Aurora runs modulation inside the reverb network. As a result, it delivers a wide and defined tail that sits under vocals and strings. Void approaches infinite sustain at maximum Decay, turning any input into a pad.
Shared Controls and Auxiliary Modules
All four modes share the same control set. Decay, Brightness, Modulation, Pre-delay, Size, and Dry/Wet are always available. An auxiliary column adds Crush, Noise, Clouds, Pulse, and Duck. Each auxiliary module includes extended views for deeper access. For instance, Pulse is based on the developer’s Grizzly stereo modulation plugin. Duck can use internal or external sidechain. Additionally, the ambient noise generator can run independently or color the input signal. This makes Stargazing a creative effect rather than just a traditional reverb.
Flexible Workflow
Stargazing also includes an A/B slot system. Users can store and compare two settings. The plugin supports smooth comparisons between them. Similarly, the A/B feature helps during mixing and preset design. The user interface can adapt to different fineness levels, even though the text does not clearly mention a scaling mode. Overall, guiding acoustic and electronic productions is still intuitive.
Availability and Pricing
Stargazing is available in VST3, AU, and CLAP formats for Windows, macOS, and Linux. The Linux build is considered experimental. A 14-day trial without feature restrictions can be downloaded from the product page. Intro pricing lasts until the end of September.
