Emergence Audio Envoy: Analog Percussion for Kontakt

Emergence Audio Envoy

Emergence Audio has released Envoy, a new analog percussion instrument for Kontakt Player. This is the first product in the company’s Cadence Engine series. Envoy is designed to deliver evolving, non-repetitive rhythmic patterns. It combines 600 analog sources with a dual-layer sequencer and a Flux Randomizer.

The Cadence Engine Explained

The Cadence Engine is at the core of Envoy. It recombines sources and reshapes sequences in real time. Two independent layers each have their own sequencer and step envelope. This allows for complex rhythmic interactions. The Flux Randomizer adds controlled variation without overwriting your work. You can set a percentage for evolution per mode, block, or parameter. This engine is the foundation for future releases in the series.

Sound Sources and Recording

Envoy includes 600 analog source sounds, 10 round robins per source, and 6,000 total samples. There are 273 presets and over 4.5 million sound combinations. The source material was recorded from analog percussive synths and Eurorack modules. Many sounds have longer textures with moving tails. This gives the instrument a raw, unstable character. The sources are organized into LOW, MID, and HIGH sections, ranging from direct to abstract.

Performance Features

The instrument offers four keyboard mapping modes: Omni, Zoned, Split Omni, and Split Zoned. Each layer has five programmable parameters per step: velocity, pitch, pan, length, and filter. A crossfade matrix lets you morph between layers via the mod wheel. Per-layer effects chains include seven modules plus a master chain with convolution reverb. The Flux Randomizer works non-destructively, so your original pattern remains intact.

Integration and Requirements

Envoy runs in the free Kontakt Player 8.1 or later. It is NKS-compatible and supports VST3, AU, and AAX formats. The library size is approximately 2.48 GB. A system with 8-16 GB RAM is recommended. Installation is handled via Native Access. The instrument ships with a full PDF manual and an eight-part walkthrough series.
