Erica Synths Resonant Filterbank: Stereo Analog FX

Image

Erica Synths has announced the release of its new Resonant Filterbank, a sophisticated analog stereo filterbank designed for both performance and studio production. This desktop unit goes beyond a traditional filterbank, offering a versatile range of sound shaping possibilities. It integrates ten bandpass filters, each with dedicated controls for boost or cut, allowing for precise spectral manipulation. Moreover, its unique architecture enables it to function as an unconventional multimode filter, an envelope follower, or even an experimental sound generator, providing extensive creative potential for electronic music producers.

Unleashing Sonic Possibilities

The Resonant Filterbank is engineered to transform existing sounds and inspire new sonic textures. It features configurable resonance feedback loops, which can turn the unit into an instrument in its own right, especially when exploring various resonance settings or crafting no-input mixer-like setups. Furthermore, its analog GAIN STAGE is a notable inclusion, capable of boosting incoming signals by up to +24dB. Consequently, this high gain allows compatibility with a wide array of instruments, ranging from synthesizers and drum machines to modular setups and even electric guitars, making it a truly universal processing tool. This capability ensures that artists can discover entirely new sonic characteristics from familiar instruments.

Advanced Filtering and Modulation

Beyond its core filtering capabilities, the Resonant Filterbank incorporates advanced features for dynamic sound design. It offers a spectral analyzer mode and a dynamic spectral compressor mode, providing powerful tools for shaping and controlling the frequency content of audio. Additionally, the unit is equipped with 20 independent LFOs and 20 independent envelope followers, enabling complex and evolving modulations across its parameters. For seamless integration into any setup, all parameters are MIDI controllable via CC messages, and the unit supports MIDI clock synchronization for events. User convenience is further enhanced by 128 user snapshot (preset) memory slots, along with discrete and morphing snapshot change options, facilitating fluid transitions during live performances or studio sessions.
