F(ilter)12: New Lo-Fi Filter Plugin from Gazillion Industries

Gazillion Industries F(ilter)12

Gazillion Industries, a one-person operation, has announced F(ilter)12, a new filter plugin with a built-in 12-bit lo-fi section. The plugin is set to release on Friday at a price of $49.

The lo-fi section features sample rate and bit controls. Twelve bits is the cleanest setting, and it goes down from there. This allows for subtle or extreme lo-fi textures.

Filter Shapes and Resonance
The filter itself offers five shapes: low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, notch, and a morph shape. The morph shape transitions from a closing low-pass, through an untouched middle, to an opening high-pass. This provides a wide range of tonal possibilities.

Additionally, there are eight resonance shapes. These include a wah, a vowel, a comb, a scoop, a hollow, twin peaks, a stack of notches, and flat. They sit at fixed distances from the filter position, so the entire shape moves with the position knob.

Moreover, F(ilter)12 includes auto-filter and sidechain movement on top. These features add dynamic modulation options.

Formats and Compatibility
F(ilter)12 is available as VST3, AU, and standalone versions. It supports macOS and Windows.

The purchase price of $49 also includes DRUGS, a one-knob drum bus compressor. DRUGS is otherwise sold pay-what-you-want with a $5 minimum. That makes the bundle a good deal for those needing a compressor.

Overall, F(ilter)12 seems like a straightforward filter plugin with a lo-fi twist. Its multiple shapes and resonance options provide creative flexibility. The inclusion of DRUGS adds value, making the package more attractive.
