Korg Unveils Filter Ark: Advanced Filter Plugin for Sound Design

Korg has announced the release of Filter Ark, a new filter plugin designed for macOS and Windows. This plugin is part of the renowned Korg Collection series, which has been celebrated for recreating Korg’s iconic instruments through CMT (Component Modeling Technology). Filter Ark not only maintains the original sound characteristics of these legendary filters but also enhances them by placing the filter at the core of the creative process.

Combining Classic and Modern Filters
Filter Ark allows users to combine up to four legendary filters simultaneously, unlocking sound design possibilities that were previously unattainable. The plugin features faithfully modeled filters from Korg’s rich history, including the raw drive of the MS-20, the smooth sweeps of the Polysix, and the warm thickness of the miniKORG 700s. Each filter retains its original user interface, enabling intuitive sound shaping that preserves the unique character of these classic instruments.

In addition to classic filters, Filter Ark introduces innovative modern designs. These include physically modeled resonators and a vowel filter that simulates human vocal formants, providing expanded creative options for sound manipulation. Users can experiment with these features to create everything from subtle tonal colors to highly expressive textures.

At the core of Filter Ark’s design is its flexible routing capability. Users can combine filters in various configurations—series, parallel, feedback, and more—enabling the construction of complex signal paths that traditional plugins cannot offer. The plugin includes ready-made routing templates to help users get started while still encouraging deep exploration.

Moreover, Filter Ark boasts a powerful modulation system designed to infuse movement and expression into sounds. It includes a morphable LFO, an Envelope Follower with side-chain input, a customizable Step Sequencer with adjustable steps and playback modes, and a Random Generator. Filter Ark is currently available for macOS and Windows in AU, VST3, and AAX formats. The introductory price is set at $49.99 until January 29, 2026, with the regular price being $99.00.
