MakeNoise Jumbler: An Analog Signal Combiner and Distributor

The MakeNoise Jumbler is a versatile six-by-six channel analog signal combiner and distributor designed for the New Universal Synthesizer System (N.U.S.S.) and compatible with any Eurorack modular synthesizer. It introduces a unique concept of “jumbling” patch routings, allowing users to instantly reconfigure signal paths via voltage control. This feature enables musicians and producers to create variations on a theme quickly and creatively.

Dynamic Signal Routing with Voltage Control

The Jumbler provides powerful two-parameter control over the rearrangement of both signal origins and destinations for up to six modular signals. Users can route one to six inputs to one to six outputs, with the order determined by the Rotate control and the combination set by the Radiate control. Unlike simple switch modules, the Jumbler uses an analog VCA-based design, which ensures smooth transitions and the creation of hybrid signals during routing changes.

Applications and Use Cases

This module is ideal for various applications, including hybrid control voltage mixing, complex waveform blending, on-the-fly effects rerouting, and gate or clock recombinations. Its design allows for dynamic patching possibilities, similar to stacking multiple RxMx circuits. Users can experiment with feedback loops, matrix mixing, and continuously crossfading signals, expanding the creative potential of their modular setups.

Features

  • Mix and match up to six signals for up to six destinations
  • Functions as a voltage-controlled mixer or continuously crossfading switch
  • Blend waveforms dynamically from single or multiple oscillators
  • Create hybrid rhythms using gate or clock sources
  • Change effects routings on the fly
  • Enable feedback and matrix-mixer patch configurations
  • All-analog design featuring 36 VCAs for smooth signal transitions
