Rockheyday Releases TINTAR-S Hybrid Saturation Plugin

Rockheyday TINTAR-S

Rockheyday has launched TINTAR-S, a new hybrid saturation processor designed for mixing and sound design. This software plugin blends asymmetric tube warmth with cubic-style tape harmonics to add color and character to audio tracks.

The TINTAR-S engine features high-fidelity saturation with selectable 2x, 4x, and 8x oversampling. It uses a hybrid polynomial and cubic harmonic generation model. Furthermore, the plugin includes a high-precision input drive control and an amplitude-dependent density knob (0-100%).

Key Features and Controls

TINTAR-S offers a comprehensive set of tools for shaping tone. The stereo width section uses Mid/Side processing with energy compensation. A mix control provides a 0-100% parallel blend with sample-accurate smoothing. Additionally, output gain ranges from -24 to +24 dB, and an auto gain function compensates for volume changes.

The plugin includes a phase-aligned, latency-matched dry path for parallel processing. An integrated 20Hz DC-Blocker ensures signal stability and headroom. For visual feedback, a dual-layer spectrum analyzer features adaptive 4096/8192-point FFT.

Moreover, the interface includes dual-layer LR peak meters and runtime dual-sizing layout options (Standard and Compact). A preset manager allows for easy navigation and XML save/load functionality. The plugin supports sample rates from 44.1 kHz to 96 kHz, automatically matching the host DAW.

Sound and Versatility

According to Rockheyday, TINTAR-S is effective for adding “growl” to bass, “air” to vocals, or “glue” to a drum bus. The combination of even-order and odd-order harmonics aims to breathe life into sterile tracks. The spectral calibration features a 4.5 dB internal tilt with 350 ms ballistic decay.

Pricing and Availability

TINTAR-S is available for the introductory price of $19.99 at rockheyday.gumroad.com. This price offers a cost-effective entry point for producers seeking a versatile saturation tool.
