Rocksolid Audio TEQ-6P: Real-Time Circuit Simulation EQ

Rocksolid Audio has released TEQ-6P, a six-band valve EQ plugin that takes a different approach to analogue modelling. Instead of using impulse responses or curve matching, the plugin solves physical circuit equations in real time. This means it simulates the valves, transformers, and coils exactly as they behave in a real hardware unit.
The result is a dynamic response that mirrors physical circuits rather than a fixed curve. According to Matthew Felton, Director of Rocksolid Audio, ‘We wanted to build a piece of software that accurately simulates how a hardware EQ genuinely works, rather than copying any particular unit.’
Simulation vs. Emulation
Most analogue modelling captures a snapshot of a circuit at a fixed point. TEQ-6P recreates the circuit itself and runs it in real time. Consequently, it reacts the way real hardware would. The plugin includes component tolerances directly in the mathematical model. This leads to the Unique Edition, where every copy is 100% unique. Each copy gets its own set of component tolerances and a serial number, just like a physical unit.
Interface Options
TEQ-6P offers two user interfaces. The Classic interface provides hands-on knobs and switches for purists. The Modern interface includes an FFT analyser and grabbable EQ bands. Both are designed to be intuitive.
Features
Features
- Full component level simulation
- Three valve styles
- Three transformer styles
- RA Hardware Compatible
- Classic and Modern UI styles
- Auto gain
- Oversampling
The plugin supports VST3, AU, and AAX formats on macOS and Windows. It runs on Intel and Apple Silicon Macs, as well as x64 Windows PCs. System requirements include 2GB RAM and a display resolution of 1440×900 or higher.
Pricing and Availability
TEQ-6P is available now from Rocksolid Audio. The Standard Edition costs £89, while the Unique Edition costs £129. Both are one-off purchases with no subscription. For a limited time, you can use the code “INTRO60” to get 60% off both editions. A free demo is available, and a free account unlocks a 14-day full trial.
This EQ plugin offers a fresh perspective on analogue modelling. Its real-time circuit simulation and unique component tolerance system set it apart from conventional plugins. Whether you choose the Standard or Unique Edition, you get a tool that behaves like a physical unit. The free trial lets you test it before committing. TEQ-6P is a compelling option for producers seeking authentic valve EQ character.
Pros
- Real-time physical circuit simulation for authentic dynamic response
- Unique Edition with component tolerances and serial number for individual character
- Supports multiple plugin formats (VST3, AU, AAX) and both macOS and Windows
Cons
- Unique Edition costs more (£129 vs £89)
- Requires a display resolution of at least 1440×900 and 2GB RAM, which might be limiting for some users
