Traveler: Cinematic Hybrid Synth Plugin by KeySolutions Sounds

KeySolutions Sounds has released Traveler, a new cinematic hybrid synth plugin. The company is run by Mike Martin, a music industry veteran who spent years at Casio, Kurzweil, Yamaha, TC Electronic and Sonic Foundry. He is also known for sound design work for Cherry Audio. Traveler is the first instrument plugin from his new venture, and it arrives with an impressively deep feature set.

Hybrid Synthesis Engine

At its core, Traveler offers three oscillators with a wide range of types. These include linear and exponential FM, wavetables, and a 7-voice unison stack, among others. In addition, the filter section provides numerous options, such as multiple ladder filters and an NJM2069-style filter found in the KORG DW-8000 and DSS-1. As a result, the sound palette stretches from classic analog tones to more experimental textures.

Modulation, Sequencer and Effects

Moreover, Traveler features three multi-stage envelopes that are both powerful and flexible. A hugely flexible sequencer and arpeggiator are also on board. To round things off, the plugin includes a suite of high-quality effects that complement the synth as a whole. The focus on expression makes it particularly suitable for cinematic and score-oriented productions.

Presets from Industry Sound Designers

Furthermore, the preset library was created by well-known sound designers such as Scott McAuley, Venus Theory, James Dyson, David Helping, James Terris and Drew Schlesinger. Therefore, users get plenty of material to explore right out of the box.
