Buchert Audio Dimension Engine Adds AAX Native Support

Buchert Audio has released Dimension Engine, a new width and depth processor for mono-to-stereo work. It is the latest part of the Buchert Audio plugin series. The new plugin also completes AAX Native support across the entire lineup. As a result, the full suite now runs as AU, VST3 and AAX Native on macOS and VST3 on Windows.

What Does Dimension Engine Do?

Dimension Engine focuses on stereo perception and distance. You can control Width and Depth independently. In other words, a narrow source can be widened without losing its spatial position. Focus and Motion controls add further fine-tuning. Additionally, the interface remains simple and intuitive. This makes the plugin easy to use in both single tracks and full mixes.

Mono-Safe Width in the Mix

Many stereo wideners fall apart in mono. Dimension Engine avoids this by using Mono Bass and Mono Guard. These controls keep low-frequency content centered while width presents above. Furthermore, Gain Match and audition modes allow quick comparison between wet and dry signals. Therefore, mono-safety is possible without sacrificing the stereo feel. That said, the plugin works best when the input signal is set at a healthy level.

Presets and A/B Compare

Dimension Engine includes five factory presets as starting points. It also offers A/B comparison with named presets. These features make it easier to switch between settings during a session. In addition, the gain-matched A/B switch ensures that the volume does not dominate the perception. Overall, this is a practical tool for mix balance rather than a simple effect toy.
