Panoramic Mastering-Grade Stereo Field Plugin Released
Panorama Audio Labs has released Panoramic, its debut mastering-grade stereo field plugin for macOS. Indeed, the company was founded by two-time Grammy-nominated mastering engineer Nicholas Di Lorenzo. Panoramic is based on custom processing chains he developed for real-world mastering work. Consequently, the plugin aims to enhance stereo depth and energy without relying on fragile phase tricks or delay-based widening.
Four-Part Parallel Processing
Panoramic uses a four-part parallel processor. First, Width adjusts the stereo signal in parallel or as a post-control. Meanwhile, Density blends parallel compression into the side signal only. As a result, low-level detail in the stereo field is easier to hear. Additionally, Character adds odd-order harmonic saturation to the side signal for weight and energy. Steal derives harmonics from the mid channel and introduces them into the stereo image for additional depth. Finally, Air blends excited high frequencies into the stereo field for brilliance and presence.Furthermore, the plugin includes DS, a high-frequency dynamic EQ. It helps manage excessive high-frequency energy, especially on splashy cymbals or sibilant vocals. Similarly, an elliptical filter can be placed before or after processing. For example, the pre setting prevents low frequencies from affecting the core modules. In contrast, the post setting allows low frequencies to interact before being folded into mono.Features
- Four-part parallel processor: Width, Density, Character, Steal, Air
- DS high-frequency dynamic EQ
- Pre and post elliptical filters
- 2x and 4x oversampling
- GUI scaling from 75% to 125%
- Tooltips on hover
- Linked or unlinked input/output gain staging
- Wet/dry mix from 0% to 200%
Mono Compatibility and Phase Integrity
Panoramic is designed to keep mixes mono-compatible. Thus, transient information stays intact. Phase coherency remains stable. Therefore, it suits mastering and mix bus work. Several professional engineers have already tested the plugin. They report that it can replace two or three parallel chains. Moreover, it delivers width without smearing transients.
Pricing and Availability
Panoramic is available now for macOS. It supports VST3, Audio Unit, and AAX Native formats. The plugin requires macOS 11.0 or later, Apple silicon or Intel, and 8 GB minimum memory. A 14-day trial is available. At the same time, Windows support is coming soon. Interested users can join the waitlist. Overall, Panoramic offers a transparent approach to stereo field processing.
