Slingshot Reverse Delay Plugin Generates Echoes Before Sound

Low End Candy has announced the availability of Slingshot, a new reverse delay plugin that generates echoes before the source sound. This plugin is designed for producers who want the classic “sucked-in” effect without the tedious manual process of reversing audio. It works as a 64-bit AU or VST3 plugin on macOS and Windows.

How Slingshot Works

In its default ALIGNED mode, Slingshot reports its lead-in as latency, so the echo train lands exactly ahead of the transient. LIVE mode offers zero-latency monitoring while tracking. Users can also arm CAPTURE to print the lead-in as a WAV file, trimmed and ready for the grid. This approach saves time and allows for easy experimentation.

The plugin generates reversed echoes live from your own audio, locked to your tempo. It offers a draggable lead-in curve to shape how the swell rises. Moreover, it features six delay characters: Clean, Tape, Analog, Diffuse, Ping-Pong, and Filtered. Each repeat runs back through the character, creating a darker and narrower swell at the far end.
