VSL Releases Synchron Cimbalom & World Percussion II

Vienna Symphonic Library (VSL) has introduced two new Synchron Series collections: Synchron Cimbalom and Synchron World Percussion II. Both libraries were recorded on Stage A at Vienna’s Synchron Stage. The releases expand VSL’s orchestral and world music offerings with distinct tonal colors.
Synchron Cimbalom: A Versatile Hungarian Instrument
Synchron Cimbalom features Hungarian concert player Gergely Lajti. The library includes standard, Romanian, and Gypsy mallets. It also offers full damper-pedal control. The instrument’s chromatic range and metallic resonance make it ideal for folk-inspired writing, orchestral arrangements, and film scoring. The cimbalom’s unique timbre adds an exotic layer to any production.
Synchron World Percussion II: Global Rhythms
Synchron World Percussion II includes 20 individual percussion instruments from four continents. Among them are Cuban batá, Brazilian berimbau, Indian mridangam, Iranian dammam, and Irish bodhrán. The library also provides 180 MIDI grooves. These grooves can be previewed in Synchron Player and dragged into a DAW for further editing. Performers include Ibou Ba, Hamidreza Ojaghi, Sasa Nikolic, and others.
Standard vs. Full Library Editions
As with other Synchron Series titles, both new libraries come in Standard and Full editions. The difference lies in the available microphone positions. The Full Library offers more options for mixing and sound shaping. This flexibility suits professional producers who need detailed control.
Pricing and Availability
Synchron Cimbalom is available at an introductory price of $78 for the Standard Library (regular $100) and $111 for the Full Library (regular $144). Synchron World Percussion II costs $167 for the Standard Library (regular $223) and $268 for the Full Library (regular $357). These offers run through September 30th, 2026. Additionally, VSL is running a “Sounds of the World” promotion from September 16th to 30th. This promotion offers special pricing on Synchron World Percussion I, Synchron World Winds, and their Single Packs.
